OTHERBCN3D
The BCN3D Omega I60 is a high-speed FFF 3D printer for industrial use, designed for the production of large, sturdy prototypes and end-use parts, particularly tools, fixtures, and mounts. The BCN3D Omega I60 features an upgraded version of BCN3D’s signature IDEX technology, which doubles productivity by utilizing both print heads simultaneously. It offers a 60L build volume and a heated chamber capable of reaching temperatures up to 70°C. This enables the production of large, robust parts made from engineering-grade materials. The printer is equipped with a temperature- and humidity-controlled material management system that prepares the filaments for printing. Additionally, it features a 1.75 mm direct-drive high-speed extruder with a speed of up to 300 mm/s, allowing parts to be produced faster than ever before. IDEX stands out as the only extrusion system offering the unique ability to print with two independent heads. Users can double productivity with duplication and mirror modes or produce parts with supports without cross-contamination. The BCN3D Omega I60 is equipped with refined IDEX technology, in which the X-motors remain stationary during the printing process. This design feature minimizes inertia, leading to higher print speeds. This motion architecture is considered one of the best systems for dual 3D printers and CNC machines, as it offers a lightweight, robust, and precise structure. The BCN3D Omega I60 utilizes an improved version of this kinematics by positioning the pulleys in a more optimal location. As a result, torsional forces along the X-axis are significantly reduced during the printing process. These torsional forces are highly undesirable, as they negatively impact the system’s performance and can potentially lead to unwanted deformation along the X-axis, which directly affects the quality of the printed parts. The BCN3D Omega I60 is equipped with a high-performance extrusion system featuring industry-leading components, including the Bondtech LGX Pro extruder with 1.75 mm direct drive. This system offers greater control and precision. It also includes custom-designed E3D Revo hotends, which provide top-tier extrusion reliability and easy nozzle changes. The Omega is equipped with built-in accelerometers and 32-bit electronics, as well as a customized version of Marlin 2.1. This combination enhances the capabilities of the BCN3D Omega I60, enabling efficient production of parts at an impressive speed of 300 mm/s and accelerations of 10 m/s². With this state-of-the-art platform, the BCN3D Omega I60 is the only high-speed IDEX 3D printer on the market, offering users outstanding productivity. A heated chamber facilitates the processing of engineering polymers by maintaining the ideal temperature for the printed part throughout the entire printing process. This temperature control ensures uniform part build-up and minimizes the formation of internal stresses. By heating the chamber to the material’s glass transition temperature, stress relief is promoted and internal stresses are eliminated during manufacturing, effectively preventing issues such as warping and cracking. After completion, the part is gradually cooled. All of this ensures the best dimensional accuracy and mechanical strength of the printed part. The heating chamber of the BCN3D Omega I60 can reach temperatures of up to 70°C, making it ideal for printing materials such as ASA, PA, ABS, and reinforced PA. The Omega I60 features a build volume of 450 x 300 x 450 mm, resulting in a volume of up to 60 liters. Combined with the heated chamber, the Omega enables the production of large engineering parts. This integrated material module offers a complete all-in-one experience. With the MOS, not only humidity but also temperature can be controlled. It offers two key advantages: the ability to recover damaged material and to preheat the filament before printing. This is particularly important for engineering materials with higher heat deflection temperatures. In addition, the Material Operations System enables automatic loading and unloading of the filament. So if the filament runs out halfway through a print job, the device automatically switches the filament. The Omega I60 MOS from BCN3D can reach up to 75°C and offers a relative humidity of less than 10%. This technology, which uses piezoelectric sensors, eliminates human error and ensures proper adhesion of the first layer. Calibration is performed by measuring multiple points to adjust the height of the print surface (Z) and the (XY) offset between the nozzles. For the Omega I60 with Independent Dual Extrusion System (IDEX), precise XY alignment is crucial. A special calibration zone outside the print area is used to align the print heads. The print heads touch the machined calibration zone to calculate their positioning and automatically calibrate the offsets to prevent layer overlap or misalignment in duplication mode.
